Sound Insulation Testing

Sound Insulation Testing

We are accredited by The Association of Noise Consultants to undertake sound insulation testing to Approved Document E; a pre-completion requirement for new dwellings or conversions as stipulated in UK building regulations. Approved Document E came into effect on 1st July 2003, with further amendments made the following year, and its legislation is devoted to a building's 'Resistance to the passage of sound'.

Sound insulation testing is generally completed by both airborne noise tests and impact tests. In this way the sound insulation of a room can be tested in horizontal and vertical directions. You can read more on the techniques we employ by visiting the sound insulation testing page of our site.
